FDM Training Course Description
Administrator Training
FDM Administrator Training is provided to the personnel who will be
responsible for maintaining your Department's FDM system. Course content
includes FDM basics as well as configuration, system backups, upgrades, and
security, modification of data input forms, and creating advanced queries and
custom reports for end users.
Implementation Training
Implementation Training gives key personnel within your department a high
level overview of the system, including navigation and base functionality. This
training is delivered prior to system installation. Throughout this course,
clients have an opportunity to evaluate the system with their own business
policies and procedures and make preliminary notes on design change requests
either for additional data collection, features, or presentation.
Train-the-Trainer Training (TtT)
TtT is designed for the personnel designated as your Department Trainers.
Course content includes navigation and all end user functionality in the modules
that you purchased. This course prepares you to roll out end user training to
all of your department users. FDM supplies training materials that may be copied
and customized for distribution.
CAD Setup Training
This training course is designed for personnel who will administer your
department's CAD system. CAD Setup is an intensive one-on-one training for how
to configure the database for CAD, including setting up all data that will drive
CAD resource recommendations during dispatching.
CAD Dispatcher Training
CAD Dispatcher training trains communications center personnel in processing
calls through the CAD system. The course begins with an overview of your
department's CAD system. Each of the status windows that make up the CAD
interface is covered along with the basics of navigating the system. Trainees
are then "walked through" dispatch tasks, starting with entering simple
incidents and gradually entering more detailed incidents.
The second segment of training simulates real world conditions. Trainees work
in pairs with one serving as the caller and the other as the dispatcher. The
dispatcher handles the complete call process, from entering the incident details
until the conclusion of the incident. The trainees reverse positions halfway
through the training. Dispatch training also provides an opportunity to test the
accuracy of the response recommendations provided by your FDM CAD system.
Trainees use their knowledge of the service area and the unit recommendations
provided by FDMCAD to ensure that the recommendations are correct.
CAD Supervisor Training
CAD Supervisor training begins with the same training give to dispatchers,
with an additional day that focuses on providing a more in depth look at the
FDMCAD system. This training also covers managing incident data that is
collected over time as well as retrieving the statistics they need and creating
reports.
